Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with a basic surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This basic alumina is also low-capacity ion exchanger in aqueous media. Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges can be used to extract phospholipids, steroids, and catecholamines. Since Sep-Pak Alumina B is unaffected by high-energy radioactivity, these cartridges can be used for radioactive compound isolation. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

Sep-Pak Alumina A Vac cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with an acidic surface chemistry. The Oasis WAX cartridges for Symbiosis/Prospekt-2 systems are designed for rugged, reproducible, and ultra-fast on-line SPE in the Spark Holland Symbiosis and Prospekt-2 systems. Each cartridge contains 2.5 mg of Oasis WAX, a polymeric reversed-phase, weak anion exchange mixed-mode sorbent that has been optimized for fast, simple, and highly selective sample preparation of strong acidic compounds. Each 800-series tray contains 96 cartridges and can be directly loaded into the Automatic Cartridge Exchange (ACE) or the ACE Feeder units of the Symbiosis/Prospekt-2 systems without the stainless steel tray holder/adaptor.
